When shaving....(any part of your anatomy)

These are the steps you need to follow when you are shaving your face, your legs or the bits in between your legs (don't worry I know you young people are into that sort of thing nowadays - can you hear my rocker creaking?)

Number 1: Wash your hairy bits with hot water first - preferably, leave shaving till after you have a shower (this goes for girls as well) or do it in the shower if you can. If shaving the face buy a mist free mirror so you can see what you're doing (I had a couple of incidents where I thought myself clever where I shaved what I thought was my face and took off bits of my skin and left a couple of hedge rows in the middle of my cheek - bad! Sore and embarassing!)

Number 2: Apply shave gel, foam or creme to said hairy bits, liberally.

Number 3: Shave with the grain, not against it. If your blade is sharp enough it will do the trick; if it's leaving bits then you need a new blade.

Number 4: Rinse the blade in between so that you not using a gunk filled blade and use Cold water when you do it. Hot water dulls the blade while cold keeps it sharp.

Number 5: Once you have finished, rinse the area in Warm water to remove the soap; once thats gone rinse again with Cold water. (the Warm water opens up the pores of the skin so that residue gets rinsed away, the Cold water closes them up again like a mini toner)

Number 6: MOISTURISE! MOISTURISE! MOISTURISE!
